Audio mixer control box for PPro

Does anyone know of an external audio mixer (probably USB) that will
control the PPro audio mixer. Not necessarily to input audio (mics or other analog devices) but mostly to control the audio on the timeline. Dragging virtual sliders & rotory knob is sooooooooo cumbersom & inaccurate. And adding keys & adjusting on the timeline is as slow as death. I know about Red Rover for Audition - A good start but why leave PPro and move files just to adjust volumn & EQ levels? I'd gladly spend 300-400 bucks on this fix. What do ya think folks? Adobe named their product "Pro". This little piece of hardware will get them one step closer. Look at Avid. They have a mixer now. How do I (we) get Adobe follow up with this?
I've asked Adobe about this several times & I get no reply. Even their guys at the industry shows give me a blank stare when I ask them. I'll be at DV Expo West in December. Maybe they'll have some promising news for me.

Oh, heck yeah!! I'd defintely give up a few bucks for hardware control, say with a Behringer BCF2000 or even a mackie Baby HUI. One of the unsung features of PPro is it's audio (plus vst) capabilities. Hardware control would definitely put PPro on another level. just my IMO.

I agree. I've been looking for one also. I'd even pay much more for automation on the board.

Has anybody actually used the Behringer BCF 2000 or BCR 2000 with
Premiere Pro's audio mixer and effects? Nobody at Behringer seems to
know whether it works and all the descriptions of these controllers are
based on use with music software like Cubase. PPro's audio is ASIO
compatible but seemingly not MIDI, so I don't know where that leaves
hardware control of the software knobs -- which is what I'm looking for
as I am tired of finicky mouse work on audio tracks.
