Did someone use Premiere 1.5 to capture Sony camcorder? I got it to
work several months ago. However, when I tried it again lately, it
does not work any more. The software said my device is offline. I
tried to go to DV Device Manager to select NTSC/Sony/Standard and it
is still offline. I looked in My Computer and it shows there. There is
also "DV in" status in the camcorder. It is just I cannot use either
Premiere or Movie Maker to get the video. Any clue how to fix this?
Thanks.

I have had the same problem with some cameras before with Premiere. I
think the problem is how they "switch modes" and when you try to play
it, it sends a different signal to the computer, and the computer
thinks it got disconnected. What I did to fix this was begin to play
the tape via the camera, then open up the capture window (assuming
that your settings are already configured for the camera)

Hope this helps!
