Reduce Speed of Clip - How to Avoid Blur Effect

Every time I reduce the speed of a clip the rendered version comes out looking like I applied some kind of blur effect. Not so bad in itself, I suppose, but it sure sucks when you don't want it. I've messed around with every field option setting I can come up with and still haven't gotten away from this. Somebody please help. I have AfterEffects but don't use it enough to know how to get rid of the problem. But I'd be willing to learn if there was no solution readily available in Pro. Please advise.

I've done this many times and never had blurring. Describe how you are doing this, please. You have rendered it, not just looked at the monitor while the timeline plays? If the red bar is still above the clip, you will get blurring.

Thanks for the response. I've exported the movie in mpeg format, qt, and avi and I still get the same results. Only one clip from my timeline looks pristine and that's the one with speed at 100%.

You might want to try a plugin such as twixtor or boris for this. They will give a better slow motion effect.

Could zooming in and out possibly play a role here? Because I notice it occurs moreso with clips where zooming in and out is common. If so, is there any way to prevent/fix it? Thanks again...
