help with premiere pro credits created in photoshop

i'm working on a wedding dvd for a friend of mine. i'm trying to use credits i've created in photoshop into premiere pro 1.5.

the psd contains a black background with white text and a grayscale image. its dimensions are 480 pixels wide x 3200 pixels tall.

when i import the psd into premiere, i have tried both "footage" and "sequence." i then set the speed/duration to 8% (or one minute). i then go into effect controls and create a keyframe at the beginning with a vertical position of 2200 (so that the vertical roll starts offscreen). then i go to the end of the clip and set a new keyframe at -1600 vertical position (so that it ends offscreen). everything looks perfect before i render.

after i render the playback is very choppy and wavy. it appears as if each word and image has been split in two while scrolling vertically.

have exported and played back the footage in several formats, programs and screens. i've tried .avi,.mpg, .wmv, premiere, windows media player, quicktime, miniDV on my computer monitors and my hdtv. it's the same on all of them.

here's a screenshot of the playback:

here's a screenshot of my entire workspace (56k beware: 1920x1200):

does anyone know how to fix this?

thanks in advance.

Since it is a still, set the duration to 100% instead of 8%.

Adjust the duration to one minute with the Select Tool on the Timeline.

I dont know if it will make any difference, but it is worth trying.

Roger,

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately, that didn't work.

Any other ideas?

I actually tried the same thing and i got the same result as you. The slower the title rolls the worse the result.

Either do your titles with Adobe Title Designer (Roll) or do the rolling credits in After Effects. To launch Adobe Title Designer, press F9 in Premiere Pro.

Thats my solution, somebody else may have a better one. :)

White text on a black background is very hard on the DV codec.

Also, you may just need to change the duration and therefore the speed of the scroll. Experiment until you find the best speed.
