Hello there!

A quick question with hopefully a simple solution. I need to do a test anamorphic/vertical squeeze on some footage but am having difficulty figuring out how to do it in Premiere. In Final Cut Pro it's done as an effect with a video filter and exported using a compressor.

My question is this, is there a way to do this in Premiere Pro 1.5? If so, what is it called and how can this be done. I've been scouring the books and website but haven't been able to find a solution.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Sharon

Sharon, there is no "vertical squeeze" in anamorphic video. I suspect you have your terminology wrong.

Please see "16:9 or 4:3?" in the "Frequently Answered Questions" section of the PPro Wiki.Cheers

not sure what you are trying to achieve but try "Reinterpret Footage" command and use a widescreen PAR eg 1.44

Thanks Eddie...I think that is what is wrong as well...what they want me to do is to make sure the footage we have will not distort or stretch when it is put onto a larger screen. I also cannot get a straight answer as to what the original footage was shot in....film, beta, minidv, etc. I think that when i can get that answered properly I'll be able to ask more intelligent questions.
