I am trying to use project manager to save a trimmed project to a hard drive with ample space but after a short time I get the error "unknown error please save the project and retry again". I get the same error if use the optiuon to copy the project excluding all unused clips in the project. PPRO estimates the untrimmed projevt 16 GB and trimmed project 9 GB. Any suggestions

Siraj,

I kept getting that error message too. Unfortunately I was unable to track down what the cause was or, indeed, find a way round the issue.

Sorry I can't help - just thought I'd let you know that you are not alone in experiencing this problem.

Phil.

I get the error as well and have reported several times for several different projects and conditions. It works if you don't choose to "trim", just copy.

PM requires as much space as the current project consumes, on the same drive, as well as ample room on the target drive. If the drives are the same, the rule still applies.

Thanks I got it working once but I am not sure it will work again. Your advice was quite helpful. I have another issue using PPRO 1.5 with matrox RT extreme some times I get an error when opening PPRO dgctrl not found and the program does not load at all. The only way I can get it working back if I restore my pc XPPRO to the state when it was working. Any suggestions how to get around this problem without resorting to system restore ?

hi,

I had the same problem and it seemed like my external drive was formatted for mac and pc and had a file size limitation. I formatted the drive and it worked

No Project Manager in PPro 1 - new feature for 1.5.

In 1.5, look in the Project topline menu and see Project Manager...

If you need more advice, start by using the on-line help, where searching for 'trim' would have generated a link to Project Manager in the first place.
