Well HDV is at DV datarate so for PAL your talking approx 4mins per GB HDD
space.
HD can vary greatly but at 1080 50i I think your looking at appox 7GB per
min of content.
So I'd guess you need roughly 30 times more storage space for uncompressed
HD compared to HDV.
You also need the drives to be able to deliver at that rate as well.
