I have a large number of DV files on my hard disk that are 1 hour dv videos (directly recorded from camera to hard disk). I would like to store some of these on a double layer dvd but they are slightly too large They range in size from 10 to 12 GB. I would then like to to use the DVD stored files for typical editing on Premier Pro 1.5. Are there any rendering options that will preserve as much quality as possible and produce about a 20% reduction file size?
Thanks

No. There isn't.

Can't you chop them up a bit and get rid of anything you will never use?

If you reduce them, your editing capabilities get thrown out the window.

How about just storing them on a tape?

Or get an external drive enclosure and use up your old, smaller hard drives as swappable archive storage.
