After encoding - movie playback opens a web page

I remember a while back there was some product that embed a "open web page" command. Basically, when the video file was playing after 10 seconds or so a web page would auto open behind it (if internet connected).

I would like to add this option to some of my exclusive web help areas. The user would be made aware the link would open.

Does anyone remember the encoding software for this? Anyone know of Premiere Plugin for this action? I guess it's best to edit and endcode in Premiere then re-encode with the other software adding the "open web page" exe.

Thanks

You can do it right from teh Pro timeline. Just make a chapter point at the spot you want the URL to pop up, then double-click on the chapter point, and where it says "URL" just type in your URL. Then export thru Adobe Media Export as a WMV file.

Thanks Chris.

I'm using 6.5, made an oops post here I guess. I have the area to add a URL in the Marker but never have been able to get it to execute after encoding.

My encoding options are:

Adobe MPEG Encoder
Matrox MediaExport
Advanced WindowMedia

So far, none of the .wmv settings have allowed this feature to work.

Thoughts?

Go to Microsoft.com and type in Media Encoder in the downloads search. There is a free tool for accomplishing this.

I just learned from the wise ones (Wrigley and Gotz) that WMV no longer supports the web link function. I did the same thing successfully using quicktime.

A couple of notes on this, though... In PPRO, the webmarkers work nicely, but the target frame does not. So if you want to have the video play in the left frame and change the mainframe it won't do it. I had to use Premiere 6.2 to accomplish this.

The Quicktime files are significantly bigger than the WMV files is the only other bad thing.
