Hello everyone!

I've been working on a video in Adobe Premiere, and having some trouble with the audio. When I export the video, the audio makes a really bad crackling noise whenever there is a semi-loud noise. I've been messing with the settings, but I can't seem to get any change. Does anyone know how I could fix it?

Set your master levels to about -6db and you should be fine.

Keep the Mixer control panel open and be sure you NEVER get a Red distortion indication in the top square (unless you like crackling). As Aanarav said, keep the master volume near -6db and you'll be good.

Does anyone know another way around the problem?

Aanarav and Jon gave you the solution.

In addition, for a music track that is too loud, use the Mixer to lower the level of the individual music track. This is assuming that the music is on it's own track. (Which it should be when you designed the project, as this makes adjusting it easy)

Well the only thing that puzzles me is that the music level is significantly louder than the video sound. The video sound is already pretty low. Does anyone know another way around the problem?

When I had low dialogue before, I would raise the level of the dialoge track, in the mixer.

I realize you have the pops. The is probably due to the cumulative effect of your dialoge and music tracks. If you lower music and raise dialoge, you should be able to balance it out. Watch the meters, and stay out of the red on the individual and master tracks.

Realize also, if you only lower the music, the tracks may be balanced out. However, the viewer may have to raise the volume on their equipment, more than usual.

Alright, I fidget with it some more. It also doesn't help that the dialogue in the video is already very low; which of course is my fault. I appreciate the help!

Yeah, I was trying to avoid that. But I guess it's not like we're talking hollywood here or anything.

Thanks a lot, I didn't know that about the software.
