I also have a 4400+ X2 and have the same problem. Although I can get around this problem by disabling one of the processors via the Task Manager, it would be nice to have a more permanent solution. In this thread Chris refers to a dual processor patch in the FAQ section, but I have not been able to locate it. Can Chris (or anyone else, for that matter) please tell me precisely how to find it? Thanks.

CK, you will find links to the available updates in the "Errors" section of the PPro Wiki.

I have also seen it reported in these forums that the combination of motherboard and multiple processors is a factor in getting multi-processors to work with PPro. I'm not a hardware person, so unfortunately I cannot advise.Cheers

I have Athlon 4800+ x2 which is basically the same processor. I am NOW not having any issues. I don't think this error has anything to do with dual core processors. I think it's the IEEE 1394 port you are using. I was having similar problems when I used my 1394 port on my Creative Audigy sound card. Now I'm not having any troubles when I use the 1394 port that is built into the motherboard. My mother board is the A8N-SLI Deluxe which is basically the same as the Deluxe so I'm sure jeh10 has the same built in 1394 port. I found this on PPro Wiki...

" Recorder Error: Recorder captured no frames
Daryl Lathon reports that the JVC GR-D72U requires an IEEE 1394 interface that uses the Texas Instruments (TI) chipset.
See the section “Software | Capture (http://ppro.wikicities.com/wiki/Main_Page#Capture)” for more information. "

Well, my camcorder is a Sony. So maybe it's a problem with the type of 1394 port. The ASUS A8N-SLI 1394 port is a Texas Instruments chipset.

So, jeh10, which 1394 port are you using? Let me know if this works. I thought something was wrong with my sound card, but now I'm thinking it's a compatability issue. Also, are you using PPro 1.5.1?

Hmm, I don't know if anyone in this thread is using HD. The above link seems to be a discussion for HD capture issue. There is mention about the possible dual core issue but no answers.

I am still interested to see if anyone using an Athlon X2 processor is still having capture issues while using an IEEE 1394 that is manufactured by Texas Instruments (or at least something other than Creative). Since that seems to have fixed the issue on my end.

I have further researched and discovered that there might be some issues between Creative Sound Cards (mine has a IEEE 1394 port)and recent BIOS updates from ASUS. That might also be the reason I CAN'T capture with my Creative 1394 and I CAN with onbaord 1394.

Dual core Processor capture problem solved by
1. Open Premiere Pro 1.5 and minimize it.
2. Control Alt Delete and Task manager box appears.
3. Select processors and find Adobe Premiere (not Premiere SYSTEM)
4. Right click on Adobe Premiere.
5. Then click on set affinity.
6. Untick either CPU and OK it.
7. Maximise Premiere and all should be well for capture.
8. After capture go back in to Task manager and re tick.
NB you must do this everytime you want to capture its a pain in the bum but it works. I use a Cannon XM2 and new Evesham dual core processor.
