Hello
I have a 18mins project in one sequence with 2 video tracks ( one for titles of which one is rolling). Two audio tracks.
and few transitions between stills.
I have my pc going trough a VCR connected to a TV.
My TV Channel for the VCR is working well to play a video or the TV station. But when I render my project (Which now has no more red line) I get a very bad picture on the TV and with little colour and much distortion.
There is also another problem. I have a clip with a rolling title that looks very nice on the monitor playing the time line. But when it's rendered there is a black matte over it. I still can see a fine line of the clip playing behind but I don't know how to fix it.
In the video rendering settings I can see
(ghosted) Compressor = DV Pal and colour depth = Million colours
Optimised Still is ticked
My vcr is connected to the pc via a "fire bird XE" ...
Actually I just played my Camera throught the firewire and got a similar result, I wonder if I have a problem with DV and analog signal?
Thank you for reading and any thoughts.
I'm using Windows XP.

Hi everyone, I'm re-posting this in the hope someone has an answer for me :)
I had some devlopement on the matter. My friend, (owner of the VCR) remembers that there were some bad RCA connections when he used it. and he had to play with them to get a better result.
Unfortunately for me since I learned of this I have lost any signal at all from the pc to the TV? so does not know where the signal are supposed to come in thus can't try to improve it!
I also mentioned that by accident I found out that I can capture the TV programmes with PPro 1.5 Although i have never been able to capture from my sony handycam TRV 22e!

Hi again - I did not get far with these questions. But since have found that connecting my pc output directly into the TV brought a reasonable viewing. Yet I get a lot of "flaging" or like an image "stutter" very frequently but also found out that it happens just the same without motion that is on pause! This makes it very difficult to judge the quality of my footage. I'll wellcome any coments. thank you

As for the TV going through PPr 1.5 capture unlike my Sonny handycam. Could it be because the TV analog signal are more compatible to my board. (Fire Bird XE)?

I have posted my black matte problem in another category (Rendering)

Thank you for your time

Perhaps, but it may come to pass that one day someone else comes through here with the same problem, reads your post and thinks "That Michael's a genius! I'd never have thought of doing it that way." That's why we have an archive.
:)

Good to hear you sorted out most of the problems.
